about Saving Grace
Founded in 2010, Saving Grace Village offers adolescent girls the opportunity to discover their gifts through creative expression. Saving Grace Village hosts weekend retreats at the Audubon Center of the North Woods, a 535-acre sanctuary on Grindstone Lake near Sandstone, Minnesota, where adult mentors lead girls through a variety of activities so they can explore what gives them energy and joy. Our volunteers support participants by encouraging them, listening to them and letting them know they aren’t alone.
our retreats
Saving Grace Village gives girls the opportunity to make new friends, try new activities and learn something about themselves. During a retreat, guests can spend time doing something they love or exploring something new, whether it’s yoga, cooking, photography or nature. Throughout the weekend, girls participate in group activities as well as enjoy quiet time for journaling and self-reflection.
Our goal is for all of our guests to emerge feeling inspired and empowered. After one retreat a participant said, “I didn’t realize I was good at so many things.” That insight and positive self-affirmation is exactly what we are striving to accomplish at Saving Grace Village.
